Mohamed leads the Center for Applied High Performance Computing ( CAHPC ), and is Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Howard University. His research interests include Image and Signal Processing, Estimation Theory & Detection, Communications, and High Performance Computing. He has numerous scholarly publications and awards and has served as Principal Investigator on several substantial research and development projects including the Army High Performance Computing Research Center and the Next Generation Cancer Diagnosis Imaging Training Program . Even as chair he still finds time to teach occasional graduate and undergraduates courses, and is cherished by the students in his department. Mohamed received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder. In addition to his many other skills, he is fluent in an impressive four different languages: English, Arabic, French, and Czech.
