The ItinerX client may implement up to three-factor authentication to activate the device. These are biometrics, password and Passfaces. If biometrics are used, a finger must be placed and subsequently read to activate the removable device. Once the device is activated, ItinerX requires a password. The User creates their password as a part of activating their ItinerX. Passwords are stored encrypted on the removable client. If the enterprise has also implemented Passfaces, this level of authentication must also be completed. To learn more about Passfaces use this link.

Virus and Spyware checking
The ItinerX Client incorporates both virus and spyware checking capabilities. The User inserts the Client into the USB port and activates these functions. The User may check a all or a selected portion of the computer.
File Encryption
Once the authentication process has been completed, the ItinerX Client removable memory device is fully activated. The user may store any file from any application on the ItinerX removable device. These files will be compressed, encrypted and stored within the ItinerX security boundary. The User has full control over the encrypting and decryption of these files. If the User double clicks on an encrypted file, the file will be decrypted and the application for that file launched. All files are checked for viruses before being saved.
User Actions
There are a number of actions the User may initiate with the ItinerX Client. The User may use the Client to authenticate itself to the Server and obtain Terminal Services could include access to applications and files on the Server. The User may also synchronize the files stored on the Client removable device with the Server for secure back up. In addition, the User may use the ItinerX Client to remove all “Temporary Files” created by the various applications they have been using.
ItinerX Configurable Security Items
There are a number of security related items that are configurable. These may be pre-set by the ItinerX Administrator in a Security Policy or left to the discretion of the User. The configurable items on the ItinerX Client are:
Password change frequency
Encrypt on copy
Virus scan
Spyware scan
Automatic sever file synchronization
File encryption upon exit
Removing Temporary Files
Algorithm selection
Secure File Sharing
A User may choose to share files in a secure manner with other ItinerX Client Users. This is accomplished using the PKI certificates. Files may be shared with one or many users through the ItinerX Server. The files will be encrypted using the recipient's public keys and then posted on the Server. When the recipients synchronize with the Server, they will have the option to download the file.
Secure Transport Between Computers
The removable ItinerX Client may be used on any PC platform. It requires no installation and all the functionality of the device is available on the remote platform.
ItinerX Client Log
The ItinerX Client maintains a log of the actions taken by the Client. The ItinerX Administrator uploads the logs to the Server for review. The Client also keeps records of log purges.
