QuaTeams seeks an individual with a good mix of Unix Admin skills and people skills to support scientific users at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The work environment is fun and exciting. A mix of R&D and mission critical production work is done in the building utilizing the customer's extensive High Performance Computing (HPC) resources. What a neat place to work!
As a member of the team this position will perform systems admin and user administrative functions including configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, user accounts management, Unix scripting, and hands on scientific user and application support.
Typical duties of this position include: providing first tier support for user issues, management of trouble tickets, analysis of system job performance,
trouble-shooting, batch queuing system support, writing scripts, managing user accounts, documentation, applications configuration and optimization, collection of utilization data, software license management, and other ad hoc tasks. An ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people is important.
Required:
Very strong knowledge of Unix and scripting.
3+ years of experience.

Senior Systems Administrator
QuaTeams seeks an individual with a good mix of technical skills and people skills to support of the High Performance Computing (HPC) systems used by NOAA for climate research. Duties will include systems analysis and systems design and establishing, implementing and documenting best practices and ensuring that established processes and procedures are followed.
Required:
5+ years experience. Individual must have the ability to perform all types of systems administration duties in a Unix environment. Experience in the configuration, installation, administration, maintenance and repair of large computer systems and storage systems. Strong Unix, C and shell scripting skills, strong communication skills are requires, and the candidate must have the ability to plan and execute technical engineering projects as a team player.
Desired:
Experience with the implementation and operation of High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, clusters, or large multi-user systems (e.g. SGI, Cray, IBM, Sun, or HP), AIX, Linux, Grid Engine, Moab, or other schedulers, CXFS and DMF, MPI, Fortran,, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DDN and Sun Storage Systems / STK, LDAP, DNS, BIND, Posfix,, SAN switches, Fiber Channel and SATA disk, automated tape storage.

High Performance Computing Systems Service
Location: Maryland, 30 minutes outside Washington DC
A dynamic customer work environment, with an exciting mix of R&D and mission critical production work on going on the facility.s extensive High Performance Computing resources.
As a member of the customer service team this position will perform user administrative functions including troubleshooting, monitoring systems, network connections, and user interfaces, managing user accounts and access mechanisms, Unix scripting, and providing general user support.
Typical duties of this position include providing first tier support for user issues, filing and answering trouble tickets, trouble-shooting user issues, providing queuing system support, writing scripts, creating user accounts, helping users access and login to the systems, pointing users to documentation and software, and helping users configure their local software emulators. It also involves system tasks such as collecting utilization data, managing software licenses, and other ad hoc tasks. An ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, verbally and in writing, is important.
It is important that applicants have a desire to provide quality customer service and to be able to juggle a wide variety of tasks.
Required:

Position would work closely with our experienced Senior Software Engineers on a variety of exciting commercial and government projects. Approximately 20 hours a week and up are available.
