Senior IT Security System Engineer
Job Description:
QuaTeams seeks an individual with a good mix of technical skills and people skills to support the security needs of the world-class High Performance Computing (HPC) environments used by NOAA for climate research (NOAA is a federal agency focused on the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere including weather). The R&D HPCS program provides the High Performance Computing (HPC) and associated resources necessary for continued advances in environmental modeling capabilities. There are three NOAA R&D HPC sites: Princeton NJ; Gaithersburg MD; Boulder CO. This is a rare opportunity to support world-class supercomputing systems and be on a team with some of the best and brightest in climate science and high performance computing technology in an outstanding working environment.
This position is responsible for providing IT Security support across the three distinctive sites and will work directly for the Program Manager and Technical Director to provide Information Security Operations and network and security engineering design, implementation and testing to support all stages of the System Development Life Cycle.
Position will advise NOAA management on all matters pertaining to IT systems security and will maintain cooperative relations with business partners and/or other interconnected systems.
Will also be responsible for IT security monitoring, project security documentation, or any other requirements related to system or network security and security accreditation and maintain familiarity with the most recent security guidance and policies issued by OMB, NIST, DOC, NOAA, GISRA and others as applicable.
This individual needs to work effectively with others using strong inter-personal, diplomatic, and communication skills, for this highly complex and demanding environment.
Required Skills:
5+ UNIX, Windows system administration
Firewalls, routers, switches, public key infrastructure, Shell scripts and C, C++, Perl or Java.
Planning and executing Information Security operations, System hardening operations (IAVA and CERT installation and verification), Troubleshooting, certification and accreditation testing, Vulnerability Scanning,
LDAP, ACLs, RBAC, Cisco, Force10, SAN (Brocade, DDN, LSI), IDS, network sniffers, syslog, ldap, dns,, authentication (bastion host, Kerberos, ssl VPN).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:

FISMA, NIST Special Publications.
Government experience, Experience in performing security engineering analysis, risk and vulnerability assessment (NMAP, NESSUS, SNORT).

Systems Administrator
QuaTeams seeks an individual with a good mix of Unix Admin skills and people skills to support scientific users at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

As a member of the team this position will perform systems admin and user administrative functions including configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, user accounts management, Unix scripting, and hands on scientific user and application support.
Typical duties of this position include: providing first tier support for user issues, management of trouble tickets, analysis of system job performance,
trouble-shooting, batch queuing system support, writing scripts, managing user accounts, documentation, applications configuration and optimization, collection of utilization data, software license management, and other ad hoc tasks. An ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people is important.

Senior Systems Administrator
QuaTeams seeks an individual with a good mix of technical skills and people skills to support of the High Performance Computing (HPC) systems used by NOAA for climate research. Duties will include systems analysis and systems design and establishing, implementing and documenting best practices and ensuring that established processes and procedures are followed.
Required:
5+ years experience. Individual must have the ability to perform all types of systems administration duties in a Unix environment. Experience in the configuration, installation, administration, maintenance and repair of large computer systems and storage systems. Strong Unix, C and shell scripting skills, strong communication skills are requires, and the candidate must have the ability to plan and execute technical engineering projects as a team player.

High Performance Computing Systems Service
Location: Maryland, 30 minutes outside Washington DC
A dynamic customer work environment, with an exciting mix of R&D and mission critical production work on going on the facility.s extensive High Performance Computing resources.
As a member of the customer service team this position will perform user administrative functions including troubleshooting, monitoring systems, network connections, and user interfaces, managing user accounts and access mechanisms, Unix scripting, and providing general user support.
Typical duties of this position include providing first tier support for user issues, filing and answering trouble tickets, trouble-shooting user issues, providing queuing system support, writing scripts, creating user accounts, helping users access and login to the systems, pointing users to documentation and software, and helping users configure their local software emulators. It also involves system tasks such as collecting utilization data, managing software licenses, and other ad hoc tasks. An ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, verbally and in writing, is important.
It is important that applicants have a desire to provide quality customer service and to be able to juggle a wide variety of tasks.
